About us

Dr Joel Bernstein and his Team both in his rooms and his IVF unit Fertility East provide advanced Specialist Infertility and Gynaecology services in a private practice setting in Sydney Australia. Our aim is Total Patient/s Care. In addition I believe that patient education and involvement in all aspects of care, is an integral part of our service.

Ever since graduating in Medicine, I have been actively involved in practising and teaching in the specialities of Infertility and Gynaecology.

This together with my interests in Telemedicine have enabled me to publish the World's First Electronic (e) Book on the subject of Infertility titled "Yes, we can have a baby". This easy to read book, located on your personal computer, not only enables couples to learn about fertility and its management but assists you in reviewing your own progress and gives you a plan of action!

I was fortunate to have been directly involved in pioneering the world's first surrogate IVF grandmother in 1989.

I have undertaken extensive undergraduate and postgraduate training in the United Kingdom , South Africa and Australia . I have developed and run successful IVF units in South Africa , prior to immigrating to Australia, and now run my own boutique IVF Unit Fertility East in Bondi Junction.
