Embryo Genetic Testing

Embryo Genetic Testing includes Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) and Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS). Both the diagnosis and screening tests are options for couples at increased risk of passing a chromosome abnormality or specific genetic disorder on to their children. In addition PGS can be used to select the best embryos for transfer in patients creating large numbers of embryos and may be of value with patients who have had repeated embryo transfers but no pregancy or recurrent miscarriages. Couples choose PGD and PGS for many reasons, including repeat implantation failure, repeat miscarriage, an objection to termination of pregnancy, or loss of a child from the genetic disease.

This is a very specialised area of treatment and needs to be discussed with me.
